Scott Band

Scott Band started playing the accordion over 25 years ago at the age of 7 under the tuition of the Late John Huband, When John sadly passed away in 2000 he continued tuition with world renowned accordionist Gordon Pattullo.

 

Scott has been involved in the accordion & fiddle club scene since his early years and formed his first band at the age of 15 from members he met at various accordion & Fiddle clubs. 

 

Scott auditioned with his band in 2012 for the BBC Take the Floor programmme and they successfully passed their audition and first broadcast in November 2013 and have since a further 6 broadcast under their belt to date, the band line up has remained unchanged since their audition until this year (2023), when sadly their pianist Billy Ewan passed away.

 

The band have 5 commercial recording to date with 2 Scottish Country Dance albums amongst them, the first recorded in 2016 for RSCDS book 50 and the second for Billy Little from Castle Douglas for his Carlingwark Collection of dances.

 

Scott has been involved in playing for Scottish country dances and classes for well over a decade now and has been a regular at RSCDS Summer School since 2016.

 

Scott is currently the Chairman of Blairgowrie Accordion & Fiddle Club and the Musical Director & President of Dundee Strathspey & Reel Society as well as being the treasurer of the National Association of Accordion & Fiddle Clubs. 

 

Scott and the band are as busy as ever playing the length and breadth of the country playing for a mixture of functions, mainly Scottish Country Dances, Old Tyme Dances and Accordion & Fiddle Clubs.
